Communications Committee By LARRY WALKER
We ’ re working to enrich communication in the community The Charbonneau Country Club Communications Committee has been hard at work
WALKER continuing to develop strategies , objectives and action plans to achieve the goal the CCC Board has tasked us with , which is to “ advance the effectiveness of CCC ’ s communication channels .”
Utilizing the results of our recent communications survey , including the over 950 thoughtful comments and suggestions from Charbonneau residents about ideas for Villager content , ways to improve email and website
|
content and more , the committee has determined three broad strategies and five objectives that we believe will enable us to help achieve the Board ’ s goal and enrich the communication to and from our Charbonneau residents .
The strategies include :
Broaden the range of Villager content to reflect the unique and varied character and make-up of the Charbonneau community
Provide varied opportunities for residents to have a voice in CCC matters
Develop consistent and robust digital connectedness with residents
Supporting these three strategies are five objectives , which include :
Develop a cadre of “ resident reporters ” to produce content for the Villager
Develop channels for resident voices to be expressed in the Villager
Work to ingrain resident reliance on and trust in CCC email , the CCC website and other digital resources for accurate , up-to-date information about Charbonneau news and activities
|
Develop methods to communicate effectively with “ low information ” residents
Ensure that new residents are “ on-boarded ” in a comprehensive way with information about how CCC “ works ” and what it offers
Each of these objectives includes several prioritized action plans designed to help ensure that the objectives are met over time .
We hope to make the Villager more interesting , with more varied content and with more human-interest stories . We ’ d like to publish more stories about residents who have done or are doing something unique , such as writing a book , short stories or poems , pursuing a unique hobby or an unusual career , etc . We ’ d also like to publish profiles of residents ’ lives and life experiences and provide greater coverage of younger residents and their families . We ’ d also like to develop a “ Welcome New Neighbors ” feature , with photos and brief biographical information about new residents .
If you ’ d like to contribute story ideas for the Villager , please submit your ideas to me at lwwtwc @ gmail . com . Happy reading !
