By Krissy Nelson Writer/Director Richard Ramsey Discusses movie, The Song W hat if there was a movie about the wisest man who ever lived? What if the movie was derived from both the highest moments and lowest moments of this man’s life? I had the pleasure to interview Writer / Director Richard Ramsey about his new movie, The Song which is primed to deliver all of the above. It is a movie about King Solomon specifically inspired by the books of Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes. What’s interesting about these two books of the Bible is that though the same author - Solomon, writes them they reflect two vastly different perspectives. The Song of Solomon is a love book; and Ecclesiastes is written toward the end of Solomon’s life when he was in spiritual decline and everything, according to Solomon, is “meaningless”. The distinct contrast between the two books, or chapters of Solomon’s life, set the stage for a very interesting, thought provoking, heart stirring movie. Writer/Director Richard Ramsey takes a fresh, modern spin on a classic tale about power, love, greed, and longing for more out of life with his first major motion picture, The Song, which hits theatres nation wide on September 26, 2014.
