o Clear improvements in knowledge and confidence.
• Effective CPD Delivery: o Online and in-person formats catered to different needs. o NHS involvement added credibility and insight.
• Meeting learning objectives o
From the statistical significant results of the surveys, it can be concluded that the sessions were successful in meeting the learning objectives identified as part of the project.
Challenges Survey Logistics:
• Difficulties collecting pre / post surveys during sessions. Staff found it took much time, especially at pre-16, where potentially staff were moving classrooms, students were late to sessions and filling in the survey was impacting too much on the content of the session.
• As a result, there was a smaller completion matched pre / post survey rate for pre-16 though the survey responses were consistent within that smaller data set.
Healthcare Content Limitations:
• For the post-16 workshops, specific NHS content( re applications, case studies of current students) was needed and therefore it delayed some delivery but also meant the staff involved needed longer to make the relevant contacts and acquire the knowledge needed for the workshop.
Workshop Format Complexity:
• For post-16, the two-part delivery was challenging for mentors who worked part-time and ensuring the time from the students. For future workshops it would be suggested to create a one session that encompassed both for the mentors with limited time for delivery.
What would be recommendations for future steps?
Evaluation: For both workshops( pre and post-16) it feels like the content was pitched correctly and achieved the learning objectives, therefore future surveys wouldn’ t necessarily be needed. However, if surveys were used, it would be suggested that the online-survey tool was more efficient both for completion and data entry.
