Processes
Workshops were booked via the SUN website for pre-16 or by the SUN Progression Mentor directly to target students through tutor groups or subject areas( Post-16). For post-16 in particular, this was a very effective way of booking, which shows the advantage of having SUN-funded staff based within the organisation. For both programmes, there was the added benefit of not being reliant to any external members of staff for content, which is shown in the volume delivered.
For the CPD programme, this is booked via the SUN website and advertised via mailing lists and prior contacts with the schools and colleges. As both the in-person and virtual events are free of charge, there is always difficulty in delegates dropping out on the day. For cost-effectiveness, the virtual delivery is the best use of staff time and allows more flexibility for school / college staff to attend( not having to arrange cover / transport etc).
