TECH REVIEW H A S HIM A RECEIVES WELCOMING RESPONSE FOR ITS AUTOMATIC CUTTING SOLUTIONS IN BANGLADESH I t was in 2008 when Hashima, a Japan-based company famous for its needle detectors and fusing machines, had successfully acquired over KM, having an experience and expertise of 100 years in manufacturing cutting machines. Leveraging the expertise of the brand and expanding its reach in cutting room, Hashima decided to make its entry in the cutting room as well. Adding the KM’s brand logo with Hashima’s logo, the company has recently debuted its automatic spreading and cutting machines in the market. Overwhelmed with the response as a recent entrant, Masaya Osumi, Director, Hashima Singapore Pte Ltd. shared, “We introduced automatic cutting machines in Bangladesh only last year, but we are getting a good response from the market. We introduced automatic spreading machines a bit earlier, that is, about three and a half years ago.” The company has installed more than 60 spreading machines till now in the country and is getting repeat orders. In the current wave of manufacturing in China, where even European and American brands have turned towards China to reap benefits of cheap labour, Hashima boasts of complete machine manufacturing held in Japan. “As our manufacturing is in Japan, manufacturers in Bangladesh know and trust our quality,” averred Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager, Hashima. Another highlight that makes Hashima KM auto cutter different from other brands is its knife edge auto-measurement sensors which catch the exact knife width after every sharpening and assist in precision cutting. Furthermore, the company is not charging anything on the AMC and the following upgrades in future. In automatic spreading machines, Hashima offers different models for different fabrics such as woven, Masaya Osumi (third from left), Director, with Sabbir Ahmed (fourth from left), Country Manager, Hashima Singapore with their team HASHIMA IS IN THE DEVELOPMENT PHASE OF A SOFTWARE THAT CAN CONNECT ALL THE MACHINES AND CAN PROVIDE REAL-TIME MONITORING DATA. The LCD panel with the machine enables easy setting for tension control roller adjustment with percentage change. Standard Group, Babylon Group, AKH Group, QA Group Aman Graphics, Four H Group and Smart jeans are some of the renowned names using Hashima spreaders. Known for its quality, after-sales support is another strong pillar of Hashima in Bangladesh. The company follows a three- dimensional approach in providing after-sales services to its customers. The technical team of their agents takes care of the clients, and on the other side is the company’s own technical team at its representative office. “Every month, Japanese technical team also visits the factories here and resolves the issues they are facing,” informed Sabbir. The company also stations people from its technical team at their factories once the machine is installed for 2-3 months. Once it is assured that factory operators can handle the machines, the technical person then comes back. Seminars and training sessions are also carried out from time to time, educating the operators and manufacturers. Utilising 2018 to steer the technology and usefulness of its automatic cutting room solutions in Bangladesh, Hashima will also focus on X-ray machines which are capable of enhancing value in leather and footwear companies in the country. Although a late entrant in cutting solutions, the company is very much active towards the future developments. Hashima is in the development phase of a software that can connect all the machines and can provide real-time monitoring data. The software will be developed by the mid of this year. www.apparelresources.com | APRIL 2018 | Apparel Online Bangladesh 33
