Nandita Abraham, president, Pearl Academy, speaks to Meera Warrier of the institute’s many
initiatives, and the state of fashion academia today.
Since the last 25 years, Nandita Abraham has been spearheading
operations at Pearl Academy, one of India’s most sought-after
institutes for fashion studies today. It has been representing India
on the executive committee of International Foundation of Fashion
Technology Institutes (IFFTI) since 2009, and is also a member of
the World Design Organization. Days prior to the launch of Pearl’s
campuses in Kolkata and Bengaluru (adding to the ones in New
Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, and Jaipur), Nandita spoke to Apparel about
the journey so far and the way forward for the institute.
