64TH INDIA INTERNATIONAL GARMENT FAIR
The 64th India International Garment Fair (IIGF) Autumn/Winter 2020–21 Collections, jointly Organised by The Clothing
Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), AEMA, and GEAR, will be held from January 20 to 22, 2020 at Pragati
Maidan, New Delhi.
The Association has so far forwarded 27 Applications admeasuring an Area of 474 Sq. Mtrs. for Participation in the Fair
to IGFA, Gurugram.

FREE EYE CHECK-UP CAMP AT VASAI
The Association Organised a 2-Day ‘Free Eye Check-up Camp’ on November 18 and 19, 2019, at Raj Prabha, Near
Tata Motors Show Room, Sativali Road, Vasai (East) for the benefit of the Workmen in the Garment Units located in and
around Vasai (East).
The Eye Camp was inaugurated by Mr V M Kulkarni, Chairman, CSR Sub Committee, along with Mr Ramesh Hingorani,
Member, CSR Sub Committee, Mr Narendra Shah, Member, Managing Committee, CMAI, and Mr Venkatesh Yedidha of
M/s Irony Clothing Company.
The Association thanked the team of Doctors of KBH Bachooali Hospital, Parel, for carrying out the Eye Check-up of
Workmen and Mr Narendra Shah of Focus Lifestyle for providing Support by deputing his Team and also arranging
Lunch and Snacks for Doctors and Volunteers at the Eye Camp during these 2 Days.

REPRESENTATIONS & CIRCULARS
The Association made a Representation to Shri Arvind Sawant and Shri Rahul Sewale, Members of Parliament, on
November 5, 2019, to take up the Matter with the GST Council for a Uniform 5% GST on the Textile Industry, which
would Benefit Smaller Brands and Manufacturers and help them to Upgrade their Products and Facilities and Grow
without having to worry about Crossing the Limit of Size or Price.
We also made a Representation to Shri Ravi Capoor, Secretary (Textiles), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India,
New Delhi, on November 18, 2019, to kindly give Retrospective Effect to the ATUFS Revised Resolution No.10.2.4,
issued on 02-08-2019, which states that only the Model Number and Serial Number are Mandatory Items and not
Embossing the Year of Manufacture in the case of Sewing Machines, so that the Rejection of the Projects under this
condition is avoided.
The Association has sent a Representation to the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, on November
18, 2019, of the Proposed National Textile Policy. The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, convened a Meeting in
this context under the Chairpersonship of Ms Aditi Rout, Trade Advisor, Ministry of Textiles, on November 20, 2019, in
New Delhi, which Mr Rahul Mehta attended on behalf of the Association.
