Partnership were recognized as “ forward leaning ” in the area of community based policing efforts . Lt . Rollins ’ committee will travel to other police agencies to conduct peer-to-peer research in the spring of 2017 . The Arlington Police Department committee expects to conclude its research and technical assistance in the summer of 2017 . The final report from the COPS Office is due out in early 2018 . At the conclusion of the project , Arlington will serve as a best practices agency on how police organizations interact with the communities they serve .
