Bizzare Bazaar
Steampunk has always had firm ties to the maker community. A rejection of cheap, plastic disposable goods in preference to well made leather and wood is a trait common to those who choose a Victorian Aesthetic.
The steampunks whose photos appear most often in the mainstream media are
the ones whose outfits are, indeed, the most punked.
The two most common images found in searches are G.D.Falksen or Lady Clankington in cogged prosthetics.
These creative urges are not limited to additions to costumes or costumes themselves, but to all things creative. The Antipodean SteamGuild Journal is going to be looking at where these creations find outlets in the virtual world and where they
are traded. Whether its kickstarter, Etsy or in an online shop, steampunk is bought, sold or traded. This edition we will look at Fiverr.
The concept of Fiverr.com is simple. Services and goods can be bought and sold for $5 USD. After exchange rate and service fee this comes out around $7 AUD via Paypal. Naturally, being so cheap you can’t expect large or complicated work. But for small tasks it is extremely useful.
