The Ministry Development Team of the CrossNet Baptist Network met on Wednesday, March 7,
2018 at the CrossNet office at 10:00 a.m. ET with fourteen members present.
Bro. Phil opened the meeting with many prayer requests regarding our missions.
Randy took the floor and discussed that we have two more Puerto Rico disaster relief mission
trips with openings for team members. Randy stated there were “Concerts of Prayer” planned in
the different geographic zones of our churches.
Bro. Phil discussed the “Concerts of Prayer” further and the church revitalization program. He
said that Jamie Work had written an excellent Church Revitalization Prayer Guide and that
TBMB is going to print about 10,000 of these, and that we will try to get 1,000 of them here in
our office.
Bro. Phil and Randy both discussed the Washington DC partnerships with Gilgal Ethiopian
Church and Waterfront Church. These two partnerships are close to ending. A March 15 th trip is
set for CrossNet to go to Washington DC. Both churches are doing well and Randy praised the
Lord for the successful growth there. Gilgal Ethiopian Church has started second and third
church plants there. Randy discussed the financial situation and revealed that Zack Randles of
Waterfront Church has asked for six more months of support. CrossNet is Randles last
supporting partner. Letters will go out to churches seeking giving through the end of summer
2018. A motion for this continued support was made by Lawrence Cotton and seconded by
Johnathon Powell.
Bro. Phil stated that for the next mission support that he recommended an ad hoc committee be
formed to help in the decision process.
April 2018
1. The Ministry Development Team of the CrossNet Baptist Network met on Wednesday, April 4,
2018, at the CrossNet office at 10:00 a.m. with 8 in attendance.
2. Bro. Phil Taylor opening the meeting by gathering all around a hanging plumb line. Bro. Phil
used this as an illustration that we want to be in line with our God. Devotion was from Amos 7:8.
3. Randy Bonner took the floor to talk about the Washington DC spring mission trip. He stated that
Waterfront Church may have an opportunity to lease property across the street from where they
currently meet. Randy reminded Zack Randles and Zack Bekele that the financial agreement is
coming to an end this summer. Letters are going out to some churches that are giving to see if
they want to extend their financial commitment.
4. Randy Bonner asked that all look at the updates on their handouts regarding Puerto Rico. He
announced disaster relief to Puerto Rico will be extended for a few months. Seventeen churches
have been deployed from our network.
5. Bro. Phil Taylor talked about the financial realities, and how we at the CrossNet office are
working diligently to do ministry with less funding. He also stated that the CrossNet office has
taken a nosedive in communication due to the reduction of staff. Johnathan Powell asked about
updates on social media. Bro. Phil Bro. Phil discussed a program he heard on television. Group
discussion ensued.
6. Bro. Phil stated that our volunteer coordinator had to resign for personal reasons, and one is still
needed. All else is going well with the new office volunteers in place.
7. Potential dates for the Fall Meeting was discussed by Bro. Phil for October 1, October 15, or
October 22 nd . In regards to a guest speaker, Bro. Phil mention Joey Hanner from Alabama, he
