EDUCATION
We implemented the Strategic Education Plan 2016-2018 with a primary focus on building educational excellence, improving the
quality of teaching and learning environment as well as graduate employability. To achieve these goals, we continued to support
strategic education grants with an investment of RM3 million in both capital and operational expenditure projects. Staff members were

CONTINUING EDUCATION
EXCELLENCE DEVELOPMENT
The Continuing Education Excellence Development (CEED)
Framework was developed to support all staff involved in learning
and teaching in order to develop their potential as educators,
researchers and leaders in learning and teaching. Through CEED,
staff members are encouraged to explore their teaching practice in
innovative and collaborative ways, discover different ways to
motivate and inspire students, experience how effective use of
technology can facilitate learning, and utilise a portfolio of tools and
resources for enhancing practice and improving student learning.
Foundations of Effective Teaching module CEED Showcase
Following the Better Teaching, Better Learning approach at Monash University, this CEED
module was designed with pre-class, in-class and post-class components. In-class activities
are implemented in the face-to-face sessions, while pre-class and post-class activities are
completed online, off class, before and after the face-to-face session respectively. The
module was conducted at the Sunway campus and Clinical School Johor Bahru. Facilitators
included academics from Monash Australia. Shopee Malaysia’s Marketing Lead and
Monash alumni Rachel Tan shared her journey
through an entrepreneurial career pathway,
the challenges faced and life lessons learnt as
a young graduate traversing the unpredictable
world of startups.
