A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD

On behalf of the Crofton House School Board of Governors , I would like to thank each member of the CHS community for making the 2023 – 2024 academic year another remarkable chapter in our School ’ s long history . To those who are new to our community — welcome ! We are thrilled to have you with us .
Last year marked our 125th anniversary , a time to celebrate our rich history and envision our future . A highlight was our 125-Year Celebration in November 2023 , which showcased the strength and dedication of our community , joining together alumnae , past parents , current families , friends of CHS and staff . A special thank you to the 125 Celebration Committee for their hard work in making this event a success .
Last year , the School also paved a path forward for its future , taking the first steps towards implementing our new strategic plan , Thriving in Possibility , prioritizing belonging , agility and responsibility throughout our community — from day-to-day activities on campus to leadership decision-making . At the Board table , the School ’ s priorities are at the forefront of our work . In particular , this year , the Board has been actively engaged in supporting sustainability initiatives , risk management and advancement planning .
During our annual Board and School leadership retreat in the spring , we focused on Active Stewardship , with a special emphasis on environmental sustainability in our operations and education . This retreat provided valuable insights into sustainability audits and ecological literacy , guiding our path forward in these critical areas . We are committed to collaborating with Crofton House School leadership to develop a robust sustainability plan that reflects our values .
Risk management remains a top priority for the Board , especially given the evolving global challenges we face , such as cybersecurity and climate change . This year , we worked closely with the School to create a revised risk report , enhancing our ability to track and mitigate potential risks .
The completion of our new Advancement Plan is another significant milestone that will shape our engagement and fundraising efforts for years to come . Thank you to the Advancement Task Force for their invaluable contributions to this
