Crofton House School 5
“ I ’ m proud of what we ’ ve achieved together at Crofton House School and what we continue to strive for .”
In connection with this work , we continue to extend our efforts to support truth and reconciliation and build partnerships with Indigenous peoples . Last year , we had the honour of hosting Monique Gray Smith , one of our Whole Girl , Whole World speakers , whose insights deepened our understanding of partnership and reconciliation .
Within Active Stewardship , along with our continued work to enhance and restore The Woods , we completed a sustainability audit and looked at strengthening our ecological literacy curriculum . These were important first steps towards creating a robust Sustainability Plan for CHS .
In June , we celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2024 (’ 24FPS ); our 110 graduates join more than 4,500 CHS alumnae worldwide . We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing where their journeys take them . We trust they will remember they will always have a place at CHS .
Two Afghan students were among the graduating students . Through our partnership with Women Leaders of Tomorrow and the support from our financial assistance program , we were able to provide these students with the opportunity to complete their high school education at CHS , something they would have been unable to do under the Taliban ’ s ban on education for girls in Afghanistan . This fall , both students are attending university in Vancouver — a testament to their resilience and love of learning . We are very grateful to the many members of our community who have supported their journeys , and we are delighted that two new students from Afghanistan joined our School in September .
I ’ m proud of what we ’ ve achieved together at Crofton House School and what we continue to strive for . You can read more about the objectives that will guide our work in 2024 – 2025 on pages 28 and 29 .
Thank you to everyone who made this year possible and whose support allows us to continue to provide an environment where each student can feel nurtured , challenged and empowered to be her best self .
Sincerely , Ena Harrop
