MOTION NO 3 Term of Convener on the National Board Article III, Section 1 (h) Motion effecting the constitution: Requires 2/3 Majority Motion proposed by: NEX Board Current Rule An Active Tabler can serve on the National Executive as a Convenor only for two cumulative years. Term as a National AGM Convenor should not be included while calculating years of service as a Convenor. Proposed Motion An Active Tabler can serve on the National Executive as a Convenor. Explanation It has been observed over the years that a few members on the National Board have served the board as Conveners for over 2 cumulative years in spite of the rule available. The very reason why this rule has not been followed is because it is very impractical to not have a performing Tabler who have provided his time and effort and have contributed to the movement as a National convener for over two years. Moreover, every National President selects his Team of conveners with the best intention of performing and delivering the best for the movement and this can be achieved only if the cap of two years is removed. The current rule may demotivate a performing Tabler from giving his best as he may not want to perform over two years if the current rule holds good. 114
