NAGM in Chennai
MOTION NO 1
IMMEDIATE PAST AREA CHAIRMEN TO BE INCLUDED AS A VOTING MEMBER IN
AEX
Proposed by NEX
Motion affecting the constitution Article VI, Section (6) , Clause a (ii)
Requires 2/3rd majority
Immediate Past Area Chairmen shall have a voting right in the Area Executive Meetings .
EXPLANATION
As per current rules, Immediate Past Area Chairman is part of the Area Head Boards.
However only Area Chairman, Area Vice Chairman, Area Secretary / Treasurer and Table
Chairmen have voting rights in AEX.
Having the Immediate Past Area Chairman as part of Area Head Board and still denying
him voting rights is unfair and unreasonable. By denying that, we are indirectly
disregarding and disrespecting the massive contribution the outgoing Area Chairman has
made to the movement for one whole year and for the continuing contribution he is
making as Immediate Past Area Chairman on the Board to ensure smooth transition and
continuity.
MOTION NO 2
REFUND OF NAGM LEVY WITHIN 90 DAYS OF THE NAGM
Affecting the constitution ARTICLE 4 ( Finance and Administration ) , Section 4 ( fees and
levies ) clause vi ( insertion)
Requires 2/3rd majority
National AGM Levy of Rs.10000/- per Table. The amount collected through this levy will be
paid to the Host Table(s) organizing the NAGM by the 1st of December of the year in which
the collection is made and any subsequent collection will be paid as and when the dues
are received. The host shall refund an amount of Rs.10,000/- to the respective Tables
against registration of first active Tabler of the Table within 90 days of NAGM. In case of
NIL Registration from a Table, levy shall be retained by the Host Table (s).
EXPLANATION
As per existing rules, Host Table (s) shall adjust the levy received against the registration of
first active Tabler of the Table. If such Active Tabler has previously paid, the excess
amount, if any, shall be refunded during the NAGM itself. Processing the refund during the
NAGM is practically very difficult for the Host Table (s) as this process would require
reconciliation and verification before refunds are made.
