Workforce Programs Workplace Computers: Students learn to use Microsoft Office professional applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and in doing so build strong keyboarding and formatting skills to improve their employability. The goal of the class is to equip students with essential computer skills Workplace computer instruction and knowledge that will enhance their ability to compete successfully in the workplace. Computer Support Specialist (CSS): This training program comprises three levels: CSS 100, (Hardware and Software Computer Repair), CSS 200 XP, and CSS 200 Server. These three information technology (IT) courses are designed to develop such competencies as computer maintenance, networking, hardware, software, and system administration. They help students gain the technical skills and knowledge they will ultimately need when they apply for entry-level IT positions. Culinary Arts: Since this program was founded in 1980, Carlos Rosario has mastered the art of training highly motivated individuals for a career in culinary arts. The year-long course prepares students with the necessary skills to successfully enter the food services field and to obtain a Certified Food Handler’s Certificate. Employability Skills Training: The employability skills training, offered by the Career Specialist, is a fundamental component of the Workforce Program. The goal of the Career Specialist is to help students build the CSS instructor with students who received essential competencies they will need to secure and their certification maintain a job in their chosen career as well as to excel in the workplace. Designed to complement what students learn in class, the Career Specialist’s curriculum is tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. This curriculum is implemented through one-on-one career counseling and skill building as well as through group workshops and other activities. The Career Specialist provides students with more than 22 hours of employability skills training as well as with job search and job/internship placement services. Information Technology Mentorship Program: Through the CSS Mentoring Program, students gain knowledge and assistance in the areas of skill building and career development. They are offered valuable guidance for planning their careers and also receive insight into current employment conditions and requirements. Students obtain a wealth of information that will help them become better employees, entrepreneurs, and leaders in their chosen professions.
