assessment to collect timely and specific feedback on school processes. This information has proved to be invaluable to enhancing school processes and making them more efficient. Finally, staff and students have been engaged in advocacy for the school through testifying at City Council hearings about the school’s unique programs and services, and documenting for public record to the entire city the school’s beneficial impact on the lives of DC residents. The administration further ensures school satisfaction by conducting anonymous annual surveys to students, faculty, and staff. Based on those surveys, 83% of teachers, students and staff expressed satisfaction with offering input in decision making processes. Objective III.2: The school is a caring community of support for its students and staff: In accordance with the school’s accountability plan, the school collected survey data regarding student satisfaction. Ninety-seven percent (97%) of students reported that the school is a caring community of support, and enrollment was no less than 100% of the approved enrollment level. Student satisfaction was polled using several methods including the election of Student Government Association (SGA) representatives in each class, who then meet regularly with administrative leadership; school-wide assemblies; and student surveys evaluating satisfaction with their instructors.
