particular skill, such as banking, fundraising, public relations, and business. The Board now also contains student members. The Board of Trustees is structured in compliance with the School Reform Act; there are an odd number of Board members and the majority of members are DC residents. Including parents on the board does not necessarily apply to the adult education context as parents are the student population the school serves. The board meets at least two times per year in addition to committee meetings as necessary. Requirements for Public Charter School Board Actions: The Carlos Rosario Charter has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance and has never required any remedial action from the Public Charter School Board. Annual Reporting: The Board of Trustees has always and will continue to submit Annual Reports in a timely fashion. School Performance Reports published by the Public Charter School Board have indicated that the Carlos Rosario Charter’s Annual Reports describe the school’s performance directly in relation to its academic, non-academic, and organizational objectives. Quantitative evidence of the school’s performance, such as promotion rates and test scores, have been aligned with the school’s accountability plan and have been corroborated during the Public Charter School Board’s Annual Compliance Review. Adequate Resources: The Board and School’s Administration have arranged the necessary and quality resources to make certain that the school expands upon its academic and organizational successes, specifically through textbooks, realia, and teacher resources. This also includes making provisions for special needs students, and organizing meaningful professional development. The Board and school administration have also worked Teachers examine new textbooks. arduously for the past several years on acquiring an adequate facility, a dream that was finally realized three years ago. The Board continues to look forward as it aims to gain ownership of the building, and is currently investigating different ways that this may be accomplished. Administration is still monitoring and managing the final work on the facility, which is expected to be completed during school year 2006-2007.
