3. Student Re-enrollment:*
A testament to student satisfaction is the school’s re-enrollment rate. Over 71% of
students who were eligible re-enrolled for Fall 2005. The school maintained its minimum
enrollment of 900 students throughout the school year. Demand for classes remains constant.
Because new student applicants outnumbered spaces available for classes, the school held
enrollment lotteries and established waiting lists of over 500 students for both day and evening
sessions. The majority of students enrolled in English as a Second Language classes, particularly
the beginner levels, ESL One and ESL Two.

A school assembly illustrates the diversity of the student body.
The Carlos Rosario Charter has one of the
most ethnically, geographically and
linguistically diverse student bodies. Students
originated from 78 countries and spoke 39
different languages. Students came from
countries such as Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia,
Morocco, Sudan, Bangladesh, China,
Indonesia, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Poland,
Russia, Czech Republic, Yemen, Turkey,
Brazil, Dominican Republic, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and the United
States of America. Please refer to Table Four
(4) for a breakdown of the students by
ethnicity.
