Time Capsules
Carter Elsass
My memories buried in a jar beneath the ground
In the same space where I have lost
And found
Knowing growing up may be the ultimate cost
My childhood at last
Beneath us all
Each belonging gone from the past
The last call
I remember the days
When there was no long lines of grey
When we didn't have to smoke to be in a haze
From a pack into a couple of strays
Time capsules all they are
And all they ever were
Memories.
