Altitude 2497 COSFORD SQUADRON Presentation Evening Athletics This month the Squadron hosted it’s annual presentation evening. The event was held on the 26th May at Cosford sports pavilion. There was a lot of preparation leading up to the evening with many thanks deserved by Flt. Lt. Vince for organising this and ensuring the event ran smoothly. On the 13th of May the squadron took part in inter squadron athletics. The days weather had been kind to us and we started the event with a warm up lap of the track. There was a great turn out which automatically put us in good stead to take the lead. The evening is a formal presentation of awards given to cadets who have really stood out in the past year. The award winners were as follows: Best NCO’s - Cpls. Giles & Frost Mo s t I m pr o v e d Mal e - C dt C o o k Most Improved Female - Cdt Mathias Sports Award Cdt Collins Richard Wright Memorial Trophy - Cdt Holder Adventure Training - Cdt Ibbs-George David Head Award - Cdt Speake Rhodes Cup Cdt of the Year - Cpls Frost & Giles Bandsman Award Cdt Hall Wandering Trophy - Cpl ‘Blue’ Dowd The first race of the day was the 200m. Everyone who took part put in maximum effort and were rewarded with some good results. Throughout the day we had many achievements. Cdt. Morjaria completely abolished her opponents and made the 400m look easy. Also a huge well done is deserved by Cdt. Dhir for taking part in the grueling 1500m and coming 4th. Some of our Cadets also received Certificates for their achievements during the previous year, as follows: National Navigation Awards - Cdts Cox, Alder, Pagett and Ibbs-George. First Aid - Cpls Giles & Stokes, and Cdts Dowd, Cook, Mathias & Willey. The presentations were followed by a few short speeches, from our boss and other important guests who then announced that the refreshments were open. Friendly chatter filled the air. Parents who had proudly watched, now shared experiences while their children skulked off in embarrassment. Besides the track events, the field also saw a lot of action. Sgt. Collins and Cpl. Beacham both used their skill to power the javelin through the air with Cpl. Beacham grabbing the gold medal. The evening came to an end and as Flt. Lt. Vince took his place at the front, conversation died down. He put out a thanks to each cadet and their families for the time and comm ]Y[?^H?]?H?B???[?\?][?Y?\??X?H?[Y ?H\??[??[Y[? ?? ???[??\?H??? ???Z[??[?H?Y]?] ?M??]XY??H?[??]?Z\?B?[?[????[H?Y???]?]??K?H??[????HX?H?X?Y]?H[??\?HH^\?Y[??\?H?Z[???Y??Y]???Y?Z[?H?Y?[??[?B??H?Y??[??H\?[????[[??\??Y]?]?HH?[?\?X?YX\?[?]??H ?
