Not only does the USWNT get paid less and have to play on poorly maintained fields, they also fly coach and stay in shabby hotels compared to the men’s luxurious $1,000 suites and business class flights.
Women’s national team striker Carli Lloyd told The New York Times, “According to a financial report published by U.S. Soccer last month, [we] helped generate $17.7 million in profit for the federation." It was also reported by New York Times that the men lost around $1 million.
Since the USWNT is bringing in more money than their male counterparts, why is it that the men are still receiving more generous benefits than the women?
