What is habitat? Habitat is a place where an animal or
plant lives and survives. For an animal to survive in an
area, the animal must have: FOOD, WATER, SHELTER
and SPACE. Food may be plants or animals. Shelter is
often the place where an animal sleeps and raises its
babies. Animals need water. The amount of space an
animal needs depends on the animal.
