Zombies invade catalonia for first time!

BY LAURA PRIETO

It was an autumn afternoon in 2016 and I received lots of WhatsApps from my cousin Paula in which she told me that we would spend an unforgettable weekend and, also, she said that we had to tell all of our

cousins.

I was like,

“OMG! What are we gonna do? Why does she send me

so many messages?”

and she told me that during the weekend we would have to escape from zombies. I literally didn’t understand anything she was saying. And she sent me a link

In the web page I read that zombies will invade Catalonia for first time, in Ripollet (my cousin’s village). It was a large-scale gymkhana through the streets of Ripollet during all the night, from 11pm to 7am, in which participants will have to overcome different challenges while

zombies, people

characterized as dead, will try to catch up and infect

them.

We both told the WhatsApp group with all our cousins, that we had an amazing plan for the weekend. We explained the activity and Carla, Daniel, Víctor and Naia signed up to go right away, but Sergio confessed to us that he was afraid of zombies and because of that he didn’t want to come.

It was a bit difficult to convince him but after insisting, saying we would have a good time together and encouraging him to come he decided to forget his fear and he came.

At the beginning Sergio was scared to see so many zombies, even knowing that they were characterized people, but bit by bit, doing the gymkhana's activities and joking with the zombies while we were escaping from them, he had a great time. And all of us, too.

At the end of the night

Sergio told all of us:

"Thank you very much

it's been an unforgettable night!"

Thanks to Sergio’s bravery to try to face his fear we learned that having a good time, joking, and above all, with company of loved ones you can overcome your

fears easier.

I’m not lying if I say it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had and we would repeat it without a doubt. We are waiting with much excitement, even Sergio, for the next “Survival Zombie” and we believe it will be this year!

Ripollet, the first city affected by the zombie attack!
