Superintendent David Law recognition of service Superintendent David Law has accepted a position with the Minnetonka Public Schools and will complete his service to Anoka-Hennepin Schools on July 15 following eight years of service as superintendent . School Board chair Marci Anderson recognized Law ’ s exemplary service and dedication to education for nearly 37 years with a resolution of appreciation . All other board members spoke on behalf of the resolution , commending Law ’ s leadership and character . Law also addressed the board room to express his gratitude for the district , its staff and school board , and the community .

The School Board did not receive testimony from the community .
EMPLOYEE SERVICES
The School Board took action regarding employees and positions in the district in relation to a reporting timeline needed to comply with contracts and state requirements . Takeisha Hunt , employee services manager , presented items for approval and which were approved with a unanimous vote .
Resolution relating to the termination and non-renewal of teaching contracts or probationary teachers . The School Board approved the resolution in compliance with Minnesota Statute 122A . 40 , sub . 5 . The action is considered a routine matter conducted annually by the board .
Resolution to rescind the inclusion of certain teachers ’ names in resolution terminating probationary teachers . The School Board reviewed terms and conditions of the resolution and approved the resolution on a unanimous vote .
ELEMENTARTY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION
Grades 9-10 English Language Arts Materials Dr . Josh Delich , associate superintendent for high schools ; Kim Allen , director of secondary curriculum ; and Julie Scullen and Steve Slavik , both English Language Arts ( ELA ) teaching and learning specialists , provided an update to the School Board on the process to update the district ’ s English Language Arts curriculum . All parties involved in the process came to a unanimous agreement to purchase supplemental materials and provide curriculum writing to update grades 9 and 10 rather than new textbooks , focusing on student choice , reading , writing , and discussion . The matter will be considered for approval by the school board at a future meeting .
2022-23 district calendar modification , freshman transition day Dr . Josh Delich , associate superintendent for high schools , recommended a modification to the 2022-23 school year calendar to accommodate a freshman transition day , where only ninth grade students and new students would attend high school on Tuesday , September 6 ; students in grades 10-12 would participate in asynchronous first day of school activities from home . The freshman transition day aims to ensure a strong start to high school for new students and is a strategy used by school districts across the metro , state and nation . The modification will come back to the board for approval on July 11 .
High school schedule CT ( collaborative time ) Dr . Josh Delich , associate superintendent , led a collaborative presentation regarding changes to the high school schedule that prioritized time for teachers to meet during the school day with the goal of improving student achievement . Input was provided by a cross-functional team of high school principals , special education , transportation , labor relations and benefits and teacher ’ s union representatives . The School Board was presented with options for consideration and will determine a pathway forward at a future meeting .
FY24 Long-term facility maintenance budget ( LTFM ) Greg Cole , chief operations officer , and Ben Martinson , director of buildings and grounds , presented $ 15.9 million of facility maintenance projects for board approval . The projects include $ 7.2 million in ventilation projects at Eisenhower Elementary School , McKinley Elementary School , Hamilton Elementary School and Sand Creek Elementary School . The
