Champlin Park High School Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars
Champlin Park High School (CPHS) honored 32 seniors who are achieved high honors in the Advanced Placement program.
Kayla Markuson, Jocelyn Tanner, and Jadan Thomson-Merrima received AP Scholar with Distinction, granted to students who
receive an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams. Dzidedi Azumah,
Danielle Eernisse, Samuel Harbieh , Kailey Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Grace Kosel, Vincent Kroll, Ethan Osmundson, Emma
Sanders, Katherine Schnabel, Zachary Tverberg, Rodnee Yangee,, Andrew Coenen, and Bailey Hanson earned AP Scholar
with Honors, granted to students who receive an average score of 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on
four or more exams. Emily Bachand, Kira Balentine, Brendan Basch, Lila Berg, Jack Foss, Max Her, Emma Johnson, Amelia
Lund, Alexander Maierhofer, Samuel Mattys, Tara O’Connell, Samuel O’Brien, Moises Ocampo, Hannah Olson, Junsheng
Zheng, were named AP Scholars for completing 3 or more exams with an average score of 3 or higher.
Champlin Park High School music students earn All-State recognition
Steve Lyons, band director at Champlin Park High School (CPHS) presented junior Jack Nightingale for achieving Minnesota
Music Educators Association All-State Band, and for being selected for All-State Orchestra, and freshman Mikayla
Whitehouse for achieving Minnesota Band Directors Association in grades 9-10 All-State Honor Band, french horn, first chair.
Champlin Park High School choir recognized at ACDA state competition
Laura Tempel, Champlin Park High School (CPHS) music teacher, recognized 12 choir students for making ACDA State Honor
Choir, MMEA All-State Choir, and ACDA National Honor Choir. ACDA State Honor Choir: Spencer Anderson, Victoria Brinton,
Sydney Dominik, Nathan Halvorson, Will Heinen, Emelia Smith, and Lee Webster. MMEA All-State Choir: Madeline Ferraro,
Connor Goodell and Amber Lovely. ACDA National Honor Choir: Madeline Ferraro and Kyleigh Olmstead.
Champlin Park High School students participate at Educator Rising, HOSA and FCCLA
Sadie Oraskovich, Champlin Park High School (CPHS) family and consumer science teacher, recognized 12 students for their
participation at Educators Rising, HOSA and FCCLA: Joe Perry Lainjo, Alexander Lotts, Amber Intanavong, Angela Vo, Sabina
Salemohamud, Morgan Mauch, Cassidy Stark, Lauryn Samuels, Eden Robichard, Aleia Wilber, Ashley Larson, and Paige
Frigaard.
Champlin Park High School math students earn top placement at state competition
Bill Bogle, math teacher at Champlin Park High School (CPHS) presented six math students for earning top placement at the
St. Cloud State Math competition. George Stammer, Claire Koch, Kyle Horton, Andrew Coenen, and Mahalia Foster earned
top 5% placement. Robyn Edwards earned top 10% placement.
Blaine High School art students place at Scholastic Art Awards
Kimberly Schenk, Blaine High School (BHS) art teacher, recognized six art students with placing at the Scholastic Art Awards.
Senior Clay Paquin earned first place with the Scholastic Gold Award. Senior Shaelee Peterman earned second place with the
Scholastic Silver Award. Senior Claire Yang and junior Brady Larsen, and freshman Olivia Kusant earned the Scholastic Gold
Award. Junior Laina Behrenbrinker earned the Scholastic Silver Award.
Blaine High School business students compete at BPA National Leadership Conference
Rachel Bausman, business teacher at Blaine High School (BHS), presented 30 business students for competing at the
Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference. High honors were bestowed on Mike Kombate
who was named a BPA national merit scholar and National Recruiter of the Year and Amara Kettner who was a silver
recipient for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Team members include Seniors: Abduallahi Abduallahi, Nathen Adams,
Abarna Anandaraj, Davis Aswan, Aaliyah Foley-Elmer, Sarah Hassan, Jeff Kimemia, Mike Kombate, Tim Mafe, Cole Martin,
Abdikadir Mohamed, David Obwaya, Andrew Schesso, Zach Sigler, Morgan Steinkamp, James Tarbell, Alexis Wagenfeld, and
Anabelle Wylie. Juniors: Jacob Ackerman, Abranette Barry, Amara Kettner, Dakota Nitti, Sophia Pletcher, Jenna Sorsen, Kim
Vo, Emanda Williams, and Rock Zgutowicz. Sophomore: Elena Que. Freshman: Lucia Hadsall and Max Yantes.
Coon Rapids Middle School math students earn top placement at state competition
Tom Shaw, principal of Coon Rapids Middle School (CRMS), along with Stephanie Hutchins, CRMS math teacher, presented
five students for earning top placement at the St. Cloud State Math competition. Seventh-grader Mitch Thronson placed
in the top 5% at state. Placing in the top 10% are eighth-graders Cal Jensvlold, Zoe Scheck, Zaki Ibrahim and Benjamin
Chlebeck.
