Datuk Assoc. Prof Sabariah Hj. Mahat became Rector of UiTM Cawangan Melaka on March 2017 In this interview, she
outlined her vision to look, examine and elevate Universiti Teknologi Mara Melaka Branch to international level.
The main challenges facing UiTM Melaka
The first thing to emphasize is that UiTM Melaka has been a very
successful institution since its opening in 1984. We can consider ourselves
as among the best universities in Melaka.
The real challenge we face is the continuous solidification in the academic
field to ensure we produce skilled students and provide the best and
outstanding academicians for the future. In the meantime, we will
continue to build infrastructure that can help the aspirations. Currently,
UiTM Melaka is well-positioned to achieve this. In addition, the university
will maintain a 'bottom-up' approach to research activities and become a
leading university at the State level. It is quite challenging as many other
institutions of higher learning are getting faster in their own rhythm. But we need to be in the internationally renowned
group because here is the future
