□ Maintain and update personal BCeID account.
□ Set BCeID permissions such that the Ministry can send interim marks to various postsecondary institutions
□ Parents / Guardians are not involved in maintaining or updating the student’ s BCeID account- this responsibility lies solely with the student.
□ Provide class time to students to keep BCeID account up to date
Completing‘ Supplemental’ application for programs that require this additional material Students

Post-Secondary Counsellors
□ Being knowledgeable of the requirements for supplemental applications including due date( s).
□ Solicit input and proofreading support.
□ Submitting supplemental material in advance of deadlines.
□ Parents / Guardians are encouraged to check in with their daughter as she takes responsibility for managing her supplemental applications and balances other competing commitments.
□ Provide writing workshops and guidance to students in writing strong post-secondary essays / personal statements.
□ Be available to student requests for support in reviewing essay / personal statement writing to ensure appropriate tone and content, avoiding common pitfalls such as broad sweeping statements, not answering the prompt, and using cliches.
Requesting and submitting letters of reference / recommendation from teachers and Post-Secondary Counsellors Students

□ Completing the“ Post-Secondary Counsellor Letter of Recommendation Questionnaire”.
□ Completing the“ Recommendation Letter Questionnaire for Teachers”.
□ Being knowledgeable of the requirements for letters of recommendation.
□ Asking referees who will have the greatest impact, as advised by Post-Secondary Counsellors.
□ Soliciting reference / recommendation( in person) with generous lead-time.
□ Providing reference / recommender with all required information including due date( s), completed questionnaire, specific information about the program, etc.
□ Monitor application tracking to ensure all letters have been submitted and follow-up as or when required.
□ Parents / Guardians are not involved in soliciting the reference / recommendation.
□ Provide students with time and guidance for completing the“ Counsellor Letter of Recommendation Questionnaire”.
□ Read and review“ Counsellor Letter of Recommendation Questionnaire”.
□ Write Counsellor letters, as required.
□ Advise students from whom to request a recommendation; the most effective sources from the perspective of post-secondary sources.
