Upgrading of Lusaka Golf Course , Zambia
By Heinrich Malan
It is not often that we pray for rain on a project , but we certainly did after planting grass at the Lusaka Golf Club . The grass is brought up in cooling trucks from Johannesburg in South Africa and the trucking company must get the grass into Lusaka within a maximum of five days . Two trucks were brought up so far and unfortunately the one truck ’ s cooling system broke in Botswana so after sitting a day at the Kazangula border in scorching 45 degrees , the grass arrived dead in Lusaka . However , we are working on a solution to get the grass replaced . Progress on the course ’ s irrigation is well on track for a completion on 16 December 2022 which will assist with the growth of the new greens . If all goes well , the members
of Lusaka Golf Club will be able to play on the new course in April 2023 . The team working on this exciting project is : Project managers
