Mashatu Terrace receives green building certification plaques

Time Projects and Wheki ( Pty ) Ltd celebrated the unveiling of the ‘ Net Zero Carbon ’ and 5-star ‘ As Built ’ rating plaques awarded to Mashatu Terrace by the Green Building Council of South Africa .
We were joined by the contractor , consultants , owners and tenants of Mashatu Terrace , BERA , Botswana Green Building Council and the Department of Energy to celebrate this incredible milestone . Mashatu Terrace is among the few certified green buildings in Botswana and is the only 5-star ‘ As-Built ’ green rated building in Botswana . It is also the first and only ‘ Net Zero Carbon ’ certified building in the country .
The unveiling was celebrated with a cocktail dinner , where stakeholders who were affiliated with the development in various ways were present . We are proud to finally come to the end of our journey with Mashatu ’ s green building ratings and hope that
12 this property will be a learning experience for us and for all who will encounter it in the future . It is now up to the respective owners and current occupants to carry through the culture of green operations to maximise on the efficiency of the base building and sustain the authenticity of the two green building ratings .
In addition , at the latest Green Building Council of SA convention in Cape Town , we received the runner up prize for the highest points achieved in a submission in Africa ( outside South Africa ). Thanks to all the consultants , contractors and suppliers who made this achievement possible .
