code of conduct

Angela Hewitt
The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra ( BSO ) is committed to creating a safe , comfortable , and enjoyable environment in which all individuals — patrons , staff , artists , volunteers — are treated with humanity , respect , and dignity .
All patrons will be treated in a consistent , professional , and courteous manner by BSO personnel ; and , patrons who engage in behavior detrimental to the culture of the BSO , including but not limited to using abusive language or gestures toward other patrons and / or BSO personnel , will be immediately ejected from the venue without a refund .
THE FOLLOWING POLICIES ARE A GUIDE FOR EXPECTATIONS WITHIN THE CONCERT HALL :
• Comply with requests from BSO personnel and security regarding facilities operations — including late seating , drinks to seats , and restricted areas — and emergency response procedures .
• Sit only in your ticketed seats and show your tickets when requested .
• Do not interfere with the performance or artists in any way .
• During the concert we ask that you be mindful of our musicians and your fellow concertgoers . While we appreciate your enthusiasm , bright lights from smartphone photography and videography can be distracting once the house lights are lowered . Photography and videography during opening remarks and closing applause are appreciated .
RECYCLING OVERTURE
In keeping with our responsible concert hall experience , the BSO will not be reissuing used copies of Overture between concerts . Help us minimize our waste and keep our BSO family healthy by making this copy of Overture yours ! We encourage you to keep and bring back your personal copy of Overture for all concerts during the publication period .
Your entrance to performances and / or events of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra constitutes acknowledgement of willingness to appear in photographs and / or video taken by the BSO without compensation of any kind . The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to use any photography or video at any BSO performance or event .
