Like the definition of the building culture so could the room programme be determined by the students . The concept is that the new space programme should base as much as possible on the existing uses of the Schuhmacher ‘ s building . Therefore , the existing rooms have been analysed . Afterwards , new uses , predefined during the process , have been overlayed on the existing room programme . The result was that some new uses matched with the existing ones and some were additions . This means , that some new uses could be easily implemented in the building , while for other uses , like the lecture theatre , additional spaces were necessary . Already at the beginning of the design process could be clarify what interventions are necessary . representing - showing gathering - meeting and exchange ( inside / outside ) functional - working and producing and storing intimacy - retreat + exhibition space , seminar room , lecture theatre , café
