Topic-level scores were calculated as averages of individual indicator scores within each topic area. Indicators with a score at or above 1.50 were considered indicators of concern. This scoring process provided a systematic and transparent basis for comparing health burden across topic areas and informing data-driven prioritization.
Secondary Data: Nevada Tomorrow: Measuring What Matters
The Nevada Tomorrow platform serves as a centralized hub for community health data across Nevada, aggregating indicators from multiple public health, quality of life, and demographic sources into a user-friendly, publicly accessible format. The platform enables tracking of progress toward community health goals over time and supports data-informed decisionmaking by health departments, hospitals, and community organizations.
Conduent HCI’ s proprietary Community Health Index( CHI), Mental Health Index( MHI), and Food Insecurity Index( FII) derived from widely available socioeconomic data were also applied at the ZIP code level to identify geographic areas of concentrated health need within Washoe County. These indices, with values ranging from 0( least concern) to 100( greatest concern), enabled a nuanced, spatial understanding of health disparities across the county.
