Liquor sales help improve Richfield parks
Richfield’ s parks benefit in many ways thanks to the city’ s municipal liquor stores.
Richfield owns and operates four stores, with the profits from their operation funding city park improvements. The stores provide approximately $ 500,000 in park improvements annually, according to the city.
The city’ s liquor stores offer a variety of wine, spirits, beer and ready-to-drink cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic options. The stores offer bottle and case discounts on wine every Monday and discounts to seniors on Tuesdays, as well as monthly specials on a variety of products.
Among the park improvements that have benefitted from the city’ s liquor stores during the past several years are the creation of the fully-inclusive Augsburg Adventure Park, new playground equipment at parks throughout the city, the creation of the Taft Bike Park, resurfacing of the Veterans Memorial Park parking lot and maintenance at Wood Lake Nature Center.
The liquor stores also help fund improvements through a round-up program. Customers who donate the " spare change " from their purchase by rounding up their total to the nearest whole dollar help fund other park initiatives that

Other round-up donations have provided funding for the Wood Lake Nature Center bus scholarship fund, which helps facilitate field trips to the park, as well as all-terrain wheelchairs for use at Wood Lake. Round-up donations have also benefitted the Recreation Fee Assistance Program, which helps alleviate the cost of programs and facility access for families with financial barriers.
Gift cards for the liquor stores are available, and the stores are open daily, excluding major holidays. Stores are open 10 a. m. to 8 p. m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a. m. to 10 p. m. Friday and Saturday( except for the Shops at Lyndale Store, which closes at 9 p. m.) and 11 a. m. to 6 p. m. Sunday.
