COMMUNITY GUIDE 2025

Richfield boasts strong Foundation

Several nonprofit and neighborhood organizations that serve Richfield residents are beneficiaries of a grassroots organization that raises money to support them each year.
The Richfield Foundation, founded in 1988, is an all-volunteer organization that raises money to benefit community organizations. The volunteer status of the organization allows it to operate with minimal annual expenses.
For more than three decades, the foundation has supported local nonprofit organizations and programs that strive to make Richfield a great place to live and work through grants often ranging between $ 500 and $ 2,000. The foundation raises funds through donations and its annual A Toast to Richfield fundraiser.
A Toast to Richfield features a night of wine, beer and spirit sampling from a variety of local manufacturers, with discounts on featured products offered through orders placed with Richfield Liquor Stores.
The spring fundraiser also features samples from several local restaurants, live music and raffles featuring prizes such as a wall of wine and beer for a year.
In 2024 the foundation awarded $ 30,000 in grants to 18 recipients that support the foundation’ s priorities: Successful kids, secure families and strong community.
Organizations that benefitted from the foundation during the past year include Assistance League of Minneapolis / St. Paul, which offers programs that focus on improving the lives and educational potential of low-income children by addressing basic needs and providing essentials, Children ' s Dental Services, an organization that improves the oral health of children from low-income families by providing accessible treatment and education, and Loaves and Fishes, an organization that provides healthy dinners to Richfield residents in need.
Richfield-based organizations that benefit from the foundation include the city’ s Honoring All Veterans Memorial, which received a grant to assist with the expenses for its veterans and active service members ceremony, and Richfield Disability Advocacy Partnership, an organization that offers support and education to Richfield’ s disability community.
Richfield events benefit from the foundation, as well. The Richfield 4th of July Celebration and Penn Fest both received financial support in 2025 from the foundation.
A Toast to Richfield returns May 7, 2026, in the Woodlake Health and Office Centre rotunda.
The foundation has a 16-member board that oversees its fundraising and awards its grants through an annual application process.
