Local police officers serve and protect
Police departments in Robbinsdale, New Hope, Crystal and Golden Valley work independently and collaboratively to keep their communities safe. Each year, the department organizes a police academy, block watches, National Night Out, Badges and Bobbers and other community outreach events.
The Robbinsdale Police Department is located at 4101 Hubbard Ave. N. The office is staffed 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. Monday through Friday, and can be reached at 763-531-1220. Robbinsdale officers also receive non-criminal policing support from the auxiliary Robbinsdale Police Reserve.
The New Hope Police Department is divided among its investigation, records and patrol divisions. Its office is located at the city center at 4401 Xylon Ave. N., and is open 8 a. m. to 6 p. m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. Saturday. The office can be reached at 763-531-5170. During non-office hours, the lobby may still be accessed. The lobby phone may be used to call 911 and request an officer presence. New Hope also operates a police reserve program and teaches youth about policing via the New Hope Police Explorer Post 915.
The Crystal Police Department is located at 4141 Douglas Drive N. The police station lobby is open 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. Monday through Friday and can be reached at 763-531-1014.

The Golden Valley Police Department is located at 7700 Golden Valley Road and is open 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. Monday through Friday for in-person visits and can be reached by phone at 763-593-8079. The department organizes neighborhood watches, a reserve program, public safety in the parks and a citizen education group, GVPD University.
The Golden Valley Police Department has contracted with Hennepin County Sheriff’ s Office in order to staff some shifts. Departments unite for greater protection in the region with the Northwest Metro Drug Task Force, West Metro SWAT Team and West Metro Emergency Response Team. The drug task force is dedicated to resolving narcotics-related complaints, and includes officers from Robbinsdale, Crystal, Plymouth, New Hope, Brooklyn Center, Golden Valley and the Hennepin County Sheriff’ s Department.
The SWAT Team is made up of officers from Robbinsdale, Golden Valley, Crystal and New Hope and responds to critical and high-risk situations. The Community Emergency Response Team( CERT) is made up of New Hope and Crystal officers and firefighters from West Metro Fire-Rescue District. Citizen graduates of the program learn fire safety, search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.
