Program Description: Finance studies and addresses how monetary resources are raised, allocated, and used over time, considering the risks entailed. Financial dealers and brokers conduct financial market transactions on behalf of clients and offer advice on financial matters. Finance is the most encompassing of all business enterprises; finance graduates must know about both business and the economy. This program offers a 4 + 1 MBA option. Students should meet with their advisor in their junior year to apply to the 4 + 1 program.
Program Student Learning Outcomes: PLO1 The student will demonstrate professional written business communications. PLO2 Business students will apply knowledge and skills of their discipline to make appropriate business decisions. PLO3 The student will be able to apply ethical and moral decision-making principles to business situations. PLO4 The student will demonstrate the use of decision-support tools in making business decisions. PLO5 The student will demonstrate the ability to apply sources of information relevant to business issues and situations. PLO6 Students will function as productive members of a team.
Experiential Learning: Students are required to engage in an internship, which allows students to put theory into practice, observe professionals engaging their field of study, practice their skills under the supervision of seasoned professionals, network within their chosen field, and gain valuable experience. Students should consult with their academic advisor before they plan to register for the internship. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from off campus experiential learning opportunities.

Academic Standards / Grade Requirements: A grade of“ C” or better in ACC 105, 106, 301; BUS 101, 207, 230, 301, 304, 306, 310, 318, 321, 340, 4000; ECN 102, 103; and five of the following: ACC 315, 315; BUS 311, 312, 313, 314, 421, 422. A grade of“ C” or better is required for all courses. The minimum passing grade within the major is C( a grade of C- is not acceptable). The minimum major GPA is 2.0 and minimum cumulative GPA is 2.0.
Credit Requirements: A minimum of 125 credits is required for the bachelor’ s degree.
