THE MICHAEL J . FOX FOUNDATION 2023 YEAR IN REVIEW
Uniting community is at the heart of the annual Parkinson ’ s Unity Walk . This fundraiser — held each April in New York City ’ s Central Park — has become a staple on the PD community calendar . Since its inception in 1994 , the Unity Walk has raised more than $ 29 million for Parkinson ’ s programs and research — and it has become the largest single day PD fundraiser . This year , MJFF became the event ’ s new host , working to honor the legacy and tradition of this important event . On April 22 , 2023 , the Unity Walk attracted 3,000 participants and raised $ 2 million for research and policy programs .
Parkinson ’ s IQ + You , in a City near You : MJFF ’ s free educational events resumed a full schedule in 2023 with four events , in Wilmington , Delaware ; Denver ; Seattle ; and Columbus , Ohio , educating Parkinson ’ s patients and families about the latest in research and care .
