Zara investigated the effects of remote work on individual social wellbeing and environmental sustainability . She analysed the results of surveys of 56 respondents and found that working from home reduced stress levels and use of resources such as paper , energy and vehicle use but may also increase feelings of loneliness and isolation .
Amanda Matthews , Loreto Kirribilli , Earthquake Shake
In areas prone to earthquakes , building structures that can withstand seismic waves is very important . Amanda set out to investigate the role of the shape of the building in maintaining stability . She built models that she tested on a shake board , finding that the pyramid and the pentagonal prism were most resistant to shaking .
Amelie van der Werf , PLC Armidale , Investigating if rabbits can differentiate between fluorescent colours
Amelie was intrigued to discover if rabbits could distinguish between different colours ( specifically pink , blue , yellow , green , orange and white . Thus , she designed an experiment using operant learning and her pet rabbits . Afterwards , Amelie concluded that the rabbits could distinguish between green in comparison to blue , pink and white , but could not distinguish the green from yellow and orange colour .
