Aarohi was keen to develop a solution to the growing problem of homelessness . Thus , she spent a lot of time investigating a variety of materials that could be used for creating a thermally stable , sustainable , and durable prototype portable home . After careful selection of materials , she created a panel that would eventually be used to create a geodesic dome .
Nicalie McPherson , St Columba Anglican School , Trailer Light Tester
Nicalie noted a gap in the market : lights on trailers for instructing motorists . So Nicalie created a working prototype that was fully functional with the aid of an App on a phone . The trailer lights themselves were powered by interchangeable rechargeable batteries and the accompanying App was easy to use .
Tim Wilson , Barker College , Soft Robotic Innovation for Advancing Kitchen Independence Among Individuals with Fine Motor Disabilities
Preparing and cooking food can be stressful and hazardous for people with fine motor skill disabilities , so Tim decided to create a device to help them . Enter the soft robotic device which is a versatile yet innovative device that is able to help people with finer motor disabilities .
