Technological Innovations 9-10
Jasmine Civardi , PLC Sydney , SPS ( Spinach Powered Solar ); An Alternative Sustainable DSSC Solar Panel for an Agrivoltaic Application
So can spinach truly be the answer to renewable energy ? Jasmine designed an experiment examining various dyes in a variety of dye-sensitive solar cells and determined that the green dye in spinach generated the highest electrical voltage when tested . Jasmine then created 36 powered solar cells using spinach dye before testing the electrical voltage generated .
Lily Rofail , PLC Sydney , Tower Power ! Can the motion of a wave induced by building sway generate electricity using electromagnetic induction ?
Can Tuned Liquid Dampers found in many buildings be used to generate electricity ? With this in mind , Lily placed a water tank on a shake table before measuring the voltage produced . She determined that a voltage was generated and that the highest one generated corresponded to the natural frequency of a simulated high-rise building .
India Whip , Meriden School , The ARK
India created the ARK , after identifying a need with the increase of flooding disasters in Australia . This flotation device is designed to be a crucial emergency kit in the event of a flooding disaster . India ran a series of tests to ensure that her product was as effective as possible .
