Creating Opportunities for Success : Small Business University
This year , the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority in partnership with George Mason University hosted 13 small businesses in the Small Business University non-credited Executive Certificate Program . Students learned best practices on operating in the federal contracting industry and engaged with Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority personnel to learn how to best position their company to move from a high potential small business to a high growth small business .
Over the course of 10 weeks students learned from industry experts on how to position their financial systems to be compliant with government contracting standards ; how to write winning proposals ; the importance of joint venturing ; and the importance of their digital marketing footprint .
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority hosted a graduation ceremony where students participated in a matchmaking event to discuss upcoming opportunities with our procurement team ! Although this year ’ s program has concluded , students were encouraged to stay connected with the procurement team and Diversity Outreach team as they navigate winning contracts to grow their business !
