Celebrating a Successful Partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools
The Social Impact team recently collaborated with Fairfax County Public Schools ( FCPS ) for an event that showcased our successful partnership , which resulted in MWAA ’ s donation of more than 20 vehicles .
The vehicles have not only become dynamic teaching tools in FCPS Auto Technology classrooms but have also been made available for sale through the Foundation for Applied Technical Education ( FATE ), a not-for-profit organization that provides student training programs in auto sales and entrepreneurship .
During the event , distinguished guests , including elected officials , as well as Jose Florian , a former FCPS graduate and now a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at MWAA , joined us to share their insights . They passionately spoke about how their experiences and this partnership has translated into invaluable work-based learning opportunities for students , especially those interested in pursuing skilled trades .
The event was a resounding success , serving as a testimony to the achievements made possible through our collective efforts . We are proud of our partnership with FCPS , as we have achieved remarkable milestones in empowering students and promoting workforce development .
