Intern Program
TRC has developed a strong internship program called STEP , or Student Training and Enrichment Program . STEP aims to equip students with handson projects to practice their academic knowledge . Our purpose in providing internships is to give students exposure in their field and a place to apply their academic knowledge ; to support networking opportunities ; and to invest in those students as they begin their career . Interns are an asset to TRC by allowing the company to evaluate talent in anticipation of full-time hiring , to learn from fresh perspectives of a younger generation , and to increase employee engagement .
People Committee
Our People Committee represents all of TRC , with employees nominated from each of our four sectors and our functional teams and spanning our diverse employee population in terms of age , gender , background and experience levels . The Committee provides our Human Resources and Operations leaders with priorities and inputs on the key elements ( workplace , benefits , development and culture ) that make TRC a great place to work .
Some of the initiatives our People Committee coordinated and supported this year include :
Our college and diversity recruiting efforts have established relationships with over 25 colleges and universities , determined by their academic rigor , diversity and location . Since 2021 , we have conducted 42 TRC Tech Talks , information sessions in which we share the vision and culture of TRC and where panelists throughout the company discuss their academic and career journey with students .
In FY22 we exceeded our goal to hire 300 interns by filling 368 intern positions , 64 % of whom were diverse . Following their internship , we were able to hire 98 as full-time employees , exceeding our goal of 75 .

■ Implementing enhanced maternity leave in addition to our paid parental leave .
■ Connecting with colleges and supporting our intern program by providing presence at events to share TRC career experiences .
■ Work in tandem with oneTRC to encourage inperson events to create “ connections , community , culture ”.
■ Supporting cultural groups on TRC ’ s internal social media platform to foster connections around topics of personal interest to employees ranging from parenting , pets , to cooking and even superheroes .
