RIGHT / WRITE TO HEAL

Roz leads The Right / Write to Heal project , a partnership between V-Day and the Center for Justice at Columbia University . The Center for Justice was co-founded and is codirected by Kathy Boudin and Cheryl Wilkins , who met while incarcerated at Bedford Hills Correctional Center .
Through the Right / Write to Heal pilot groups at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in New York and The Southern Maine Women ’ s Reentry Center , incarcerated women are using the process of writing to reflect on their lives . The Right / Write to Heal group was invited to read their work to the Penn South community for Women ’ s History Month .
Roz forged a partnership with StoryCorps , which will interview formerly incarcerated women identified by Roz and record their stories . These testimonies will be a powerful advocacy tool that can be shared everywhere .
Through her affiliation with the Center for Justice , Roz also collaborated with Columbia University law students on a semester long research project about women and incarceration .
In February , Roz was featured on “ One to One ” on CUNY TV in a dialogue with host Cheryl McCarthy where she talked about the Right / Write to Heal Group .
