WVUSD: 2019/2020 Year-End Results
Purchasing continued with professional development by attending the following:
• CASBO Southern Section Vendor Show and Workshops (Effective Departmental
Communication: Business, Technology, and Curriculum Department. How can District
Departments Work Together?)
• Culver-Newlin Furniture Expo (included a lineup of the most progressive, innovative
furniture makers for 21 st century learning spaces)
• Professional Development Day (topics covered included safety, customer service, and
team building)
Business Services will continue to work with each division and all school sites to provide the
necessary support while maintaining fiscal stability. The goal of Business Services is to ensure
our ability to deliver efficient, responsive, and capable services to our students and staff.
Future Focus:
• Communication
o Communicate (openly) the progress of Bond and Non-Bond projects with all
stakeholders
o Continue providing updated timelines to stakeholders on future projects using the
District website
o Enhance communication with school sites from each of the Business Services
Departments [Fiscal Services; Maintenance, Operations, Transportation, and
Facilities (MOTF); Nutrition Services; and Purchasing/Warehouse]
o Provide regular budget updates and information to all stakeholders through District
website
o Continue holding Administrative Assistants’ Meetings
o Continue participating in regular interest meetings with both WVEA and CSEA
o Share financial reports in a small group setting with WVEA and CSEA
o Work with various groups and departments throughout the District to implement SB
328 that authorizes no middle and high school can begin school before 8:00 a.m. and
8:30 a.m. respectively
