Cultural Committee
The cultural committee has been a key contributor to the life
of the school this year. At the start of the year our committee
of 10 members set out to incorporate more performance
opportunities for students in the school and have a greater
presence across all cultural faculties. In term one we started
strong with bi-weekly open mic/themed concerts for our
musicianship students. These concerts involved many
students across all year levels and genuinely showcased the
student body talent from music to stand-up comedy. In term
two, the cultural committee organised and hosted Havestock
and the School talent show. Many members of the committee
were involved in both of these events and we were proud of
our own Jude Snee and Phillip Kim who brought home the
bacon with first place at the annual Talent Show!
Havestock 2018
At the end of term three the music department held the annual
Music Festival. Many members of the cultural committee
represented various groups and showcased their own talents.
The committee have been an absolute pleasure to work with
this year. Every person on this committee has done their part
and my co-committee leader Drew and I sincerely thank Mr
Cargill and Mrs Wilson for their support and leadership this
year.
It was the ten year anniversary of Havestock, originally
founded by Mr Tim Walton, as an idea to showcase our
musicianship students and rockquest contestants.
The students and staff dressed up in 60’s attire and grooved
to the tunes provided by student bands “Not Bad” “Sally
Tune” and “Minor Forty Niner” to name a few.
There was a special appearance by the staff band “Penalty
Sheet” whose Mustang Sally had the crowds singing and
dancing.
