March 2017
Occasionally, we hear citizens mention, “I didn’t know you did that” or “when did you start offering this?”
In this edition we wanted to share a few of our services and some information on contacting the
non-emergency dispatch number. In addition, the implementation of a new app, SirenGPS, that assists
first responders in locating you during an emergency.
The city recently updated the smoking ordinance. It shall be
unlawful for any person to perform the following acts in any public
building or within 20 feet of an entry or exit:

Carry a lighted cigarette, cigar or tobacco-containing pipe, or
operating an electronic smoking device.
Light a cigarette, cigar or tobacco containing pipe, or an
electronic smoking device.
The departments do a spring and fall cleaning day at
Dragon Stadium. Each event has electronics recycling, household
hazardous
waste
disposal
and
document
shredding.
Our next event is Saturday, April 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00
a.m. at Dragon Stadium.
You can now download an app on your phone that gives first
responders a near-exact location when calling from a cell phone
for emergency needs (currently available in Southlake, Keller,
Colleyville and Westlake areas only).
Our dispatch center, NETCOM, is a regional dispatch center that
takes care of the cities of Colleyville, Keller, Southlake and
