Tamshiyacu
The town of Tamshiyacu is home to two churches the missionaries were to visit. The missionary team had to leave their hotel early in the morning to board a speedboat to reach the town. Over sixty children from both churches gathered at the Pierdas Vivas( Living Stones) church. The churches here lack the resources and manpower to run adequate Sunday school programs. Many Sunday school materials are not readily accessible to this region. Pray that in this city, God to bring an unquestionable revival in the churches and community!
Gallito
After another early morning departure and speedboat ride, the missionaries arrived in Gallito. This city is not as developed as other cities in Iquitos. Upon arrival, the team walked up makeshift stairs anchored to the landscape with compacted mud. Three churches brought their children to the central Gallito church located feet from the water’ s edge.
Even with a large field to play on, it was not large enough to accompany the number of children in attendance. With hundreds of children to manage, it meant over a hundred hugs to give!
Nauta
The final destination for the mission team before leaving Iquitos was the town of Nauta located two hours away. Nauta is home to a small port city with only one church located in the center of the village. All thirty children of the church came to greet the mission team. Nauta is in urgent need of prayer as many youth and young adults in the area struggle in faith. This town sees many trading ships pass through its city and the youth of Nauta area often heavily influenced by worldly values.
When the team arrived, they were greeted by two pastors. The older pastor of this church is set to retire at the end of year. We are asking for your prayers for the new pastor of the church who will obey the leadership of God. www. coj. org 19
