WVUSD: 2016 / 2017 Year-End Results
The Walnut Valley Educational Foundation( WVEF) and Dedicated 2 Learning( D2L) organizations have continued to grow and develop stronger relationships with WVUSD, as they remain committed to their efforts of providing the District and schools with ongoing funding sources.
Communication
Human Resources administrators communicate regularly through phone calls and meetings with CSEA, WVEA, and WVAA to address concerns. Grievances are resolved through collaborative and timely remedies.
The District and both employee associations( CSEA and WVEA) continued to monitor agreements effective July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2018,( WVEA) and January 1, 2015, through December 31, 2017,( CSEA). A“ Fair Share Formula” was calculated at two points in time to determine:( 1) an initial projection for potential one-time or ongoing distribution to employees of available funds, and( 2) a“ true up” calculation that took place in March. WVEA and the District negotiations teams collaborated through these processes.
Through Human Resources, employment opportunities are announced internally through email and our District website, and externally through EdJoin, School Services of California, and other job advertising sites. Recently, employment opportunities have been posted on the District Twitter feed, where followers of WVUSD can view current job announcements. The District website, under Human Resources, now includes pages dedicated to the Personnel Commission and classified employment opportunities that relate to the WVUSD Merit System. Links include employment opportunities, test and interview tips, and test practice and study resources. Additional information may be viewed by visiting the following link:

Communication has continued through regularly scheduled District-level meetings held for the Leadership Team( which includes all certificated and classified management positions), Cabinet, Principals, and District Education Center staff; principals meetings include“ car wash” settings for distribution of information and discussion; each Division also holds regular directors’ meetings and staff meetings. Site staff meetings are held by principals and other information is provided through email and social media, such as Twitter. Media outlets are informed of positive events and achievements through a constant process from the District, and community members receive copies of the publication Outlook.
Dr. Taylor has continued the Superintendent’ s Student Advisory Council that includes elementary, middle school, and high school students. The Council meets on a regular basis, providing students with opportunities to offer input and generate new ideas.
Communication with the community takes place through monthly Coordinating Council meetings, and site parent and community group meetings. The Coordinating Council receives reports from each Division, on a rotating basis, at its meetings.
